Boating Gear

There is nothing as fun as spending a weekend on the water. Every since we were young we have had a boat. We would get up really early and pack a picnic lunch. It usually consisted of hot dogs and buns with sour kraut in a separate container. My mother would also have pork and beans and chips for our picnic lunch that we would enjoy on the river about mid day. First we got up and got the boat packed. That was so much fun for my brother and sisters and I. We were the legs as our parents affectionately called us. We ran things from our house to the boat. They always told us to take a nap on the way because of the early hour. We were too excited for that. After a long day on the water of skiing and picnicking we would take the boat along with boating gear  and we cleaned it. First we cleaned it at the marina and then when we got home it got a real bath! That was so much fun polishing that boat until it glistened. Fortunately there are places where you can find some truly beautiful boats today. We knew growing up that we would have to have a boat for our children. I am glad to report we do and they will have the same fun memories. I did not realize how much fun mom and dad were having until I got to play their roles. Boating is just fun,
