Movies where there is a heist going on are awesome, plain and simple. (Excluding Fast and Furious Pentalogy) There is a build up for the entire movie then at the end you finally get to see how all the planning pays off. So here is my quick list.
5. The Score: Robert DeNiro and Ed Norton are both great in this film. Anytime DeNiro get the chance to play an old pro and punk over a young gun is a great movie for me.
4. Oceans 11: Unfortunately I have yet to see the original, but this movie was a favorite of mine growing up. The cast did a great job and the leads all epitomized cool, a great homage to the original I’m sure.
3. The Italian Job: This one is the original! Michael Cain is brilliant, and the chase scene has to be one of the best in history. Rome is a nightmare place to drive and they “pull it off” perfectly. Not to mention the ending is literally a cliffhanger, leaving you want nothing but more. I would sell my diamond ring to find out what happens in the end. “You were only subosed to blow the BLODDY DOORS OFF!!” Classic.
2. Snatch: This movie is entertainment all around. A premise for stealing from diamond buyers is hilarious. Then you have an all-star cast and a script that has plenty of twists and turns. Full on British entertainment at its best.
1. Flawless: You might not have even heard of this one but it is really quite awesome. Michael Cain is an old janitor about to retire and devises a plot to steal over 100 million in diamonds! Try to find wholesale jewelers who can unload that score.
